Johann Eccarius

Johann Georg Eccarius (23 August 1818, Friedrichroda - 4 March 1889) was a Thuringian tailor and labour activist. He was a member of the League of the Just and later of the League of Communists and the International Workingmen's Association.[1] Here he served jointly with Marx on General Council for a number of years. Following quarrels with Marx in 1872, he joined the English trade union movement. In the late 1870s, he was active in the Manhood Suffrage League.[2][3]
